Summer days at our house- never a dull moment, never an empty belly. Chaotic and blessed. (These Summer Tartines are on the blog.)

Steadfast, sacrificial, generous, trustworthy, tenderhearted, invested, patient and empathic- are just some of the ways that Dave reflects God in the way he fathers. So grateful. @davehuntmusic
#Repost @evogeltanz This is a friend of Dave’s and he shared the post with me- I wanted to pass it along. SO inspiring and right on. 💗 ・・・ Maybe it was that kid in first grade who told me I had “big legs” and laughed at the size of my feet or the old church lady who kindly told me in middle school that “those thighs will be good for carrying babies one day”. Those and probably a thousand other subliminal messages make this 30 something adult to this day dread wearing shorts. Don’t even get me started on swimsuits. But I’m over here raising 3 little women with varying body types and I don’t want them wasting as many years as I have shaming their body and cringing as they catch a glimpse of themselves in the reflection in a mirror or storefront glass. I want them to love their bodies and that starts with them watching me love mine. So when Meyer told me today she thinks my legs are pretty and she likes when I wear shorts, I fought the urge to “correct” her and instead said thank you and told her I like her legs too and reminded her that she is strong, healthy, smart, and beautiful. Then we decided to take a picture. The truth is these legs are not super model thin but they are strong and useful as they carry me through my incredible life. And they did serve me well carrying babies, for that I’m thankful. That’s real life. This body was made to be a temple and so is yours. Keep it healthy then rock what ya got! So, maybe my imperfections + vulnerability will help unlock some freedom in you today or help shut down a lie you’ve been playing in your own head. Because Lord have mercy, it’s way too hot in the ATL to not wear shorts this summer. 😆 #freedom #dontgivetheenemyaseatatyourtable #perfectlyimperfect
So thankful for @tcbandages and @target ! Finally, bandages with multi shades of skin tone available on the store shelf. As a social worker, teacher and friend this is a longing fulfilled!
