A longstanding tradition in our home is honoring MLK Day with some reading, discussions, and dessert. We ponder Dr. King's work and legacy and consider what is ours to do to carry on the work of racial justice and equity. This quote (above) is one that I have seen less frequently quoted, but I find so powerful and critical in this moment in time: "We need leaders not in love with money but in love with justice. Not in love with publicity but in love with humanity."

Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bars
It's 90 degrees here in Nashville, and yet, it's October. This just feels odd. Getting dressed is a conundrum each day. Menu planning is fuzzy to me, and fall baked treats just feel out of season, though in less than two months we'll be hanging up garlands and making peppermint goodies. So, we best get … Continue reading Salted Caramel Apple Pie Bars

S’Mores Treats
Every day has highs and lows. We usually process these at the dinner table each evening. And at times the highs are the top stories of the night and other times the lows are more dominant themes, but both seem to always co-exist. This week was that – a mixed bag– some good moments, some … Continue reading S’Mores Treats
My Someday List & Oatmeal Raspberry Bars

Sometimes, when my mom and I need to feel productive, we put things on our lists that we are already … Continue reading My Someday List & Oatmeal Raspberry Bars
